WILLIAM E. SEAMANS SR - Youngstown Vindicator

Seamans Sr., 70, died Wednesday afternoon July 19, 2017, at Hampton Woods in Poland, surrounded by his two daughters and his former wife. He was born April 13, 1947, in New Castle, Pa., a son of Gerald and Mary Sheehan Seamans, and had been a lifelong area resident. William was a 1965 graduate of Mowhawk High School, and had been an assembler at General Motors. He was an U.S. Army veteran and had served proudly in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his two daughters, MyLinda Seamans of Boardman and April Seamans of Youngstown; a sister, Thelma Seamans in Arizona; and a granddaughter, Shawna Seamans of Youngstown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Seamans Jr.; three sisters; and nine brothers. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. BRUCE L. BAILEY - Youngstown Vindicator

Bailey, 73, passed away peacefully, with his sons at his side, at Hospice House, on Friday, July 21, 2017, following a brief illness. Bruce was born June 4, 1944, in Youngstown, a son of Dorothy (Traut) and Chester Bailey. He grew up in Youngstown, graduating from South High School in 1962. He attended Bowling Green State University, and worked most of his adult life as a salesman in the Retail Advertising Department of The Vindicator, retiring in 2011. He moved to Poland in 1975. Bruce had a special affinity for Idora Park since his boyhood home on Bonnie Brae Avenue was in the shadows of the park. He enjoyed golfing and played in various leagues. He swam daily at the Davis Family YMCA. He was involved with antique cars, Corvettes and hot rods and attended car shows on a regular basis. He was a founding member of the Poland Youth Soccer Association. In addition to coaching at various levels, he worked as a referee for several years. He leaves his sons, Sean Bailey of Columbus, and Scott (Kelly) Bailey and grandchildren, Brynn and Zach Bailey, all of Upper Arlington; his sister, Donna (Dr. Robert) Brocker of Naples, Fla.; nephew Brent Brocker of Naples; and niece Beth Ann Brocker of Youngstown. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2017, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, at the funeral home. DOROTHY MARIE 'DODO' FOX RIDENOUR - Youngstown Vindicator

Dorothy, affectionately known as Dodo, was born June 20, 1936, in Struthers, a daughter of Thomas and Ruth Thompson Fox. A graduate of Struthers High School, class of 1954, Dodo worked at General Electric in the Lamp Plant for 25 years and then the Coil Plant for 10 years. She retired in 1994, after 35 years of service. Dodo was a longtime member of the Gospel Baptist Church in Poland and its Golden Eagles. Dodo read the Bible every morning, loved Ohio history, watching her favorite shows, ?The Waltons? and ?Little House on the Prairie,? and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns. Dodo was a wonderful mother and grandmother. When she was younger, she loved taking her children and grandchildren on her many planned excursions to points of interests in Ohio, amusement parks, and to many Cleveland Brown events. As she became older, her younger grandchildren will remember her sleepovers and grandmotherly companionship. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Marlane (Tim) Vulcan of Struthers; four grandchildren, William (Zayna) Gasior, and Darcie, Rachael and Brian Vulcan, all of Struthers; and two great-grandchildren, Brianne Vulcan and Evan Manning. In addition to her parents, Dodo was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Lynne Gasior; three sisters, Nina Fisher, Alice Walker, and Esther White; and two brothers, Larry and Al Fox. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Gospel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Royalty officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
